The National World War II Museum is inviting donations to help pay for WWII Vets to visit the museum's 10th Anniversary of its opening on June 5th.

Source: ShackNews

In a letter sent out today from the President of the National World War II Museum, Dr. Gordon Mueller, the World War II Museum announced the start of a campaign to raise funds for World War II Vets to travel to the museum for its 10th Anniversary. Here is a bit of text from the letter:

"On June 5th as part of The National World War II Museum’s 10th anniversary celebration, we will host World War II veterans and their families from across America as part of our second annual A Gathering of the Greatest Generation.

With 900 veterans leaving us each day, we cherish these public gatherings that enable us to pay tribute to the men and women who sacrificed so much to preserve our freedom.

June 5th will also mark another important milestone in the Museum’s history, as I will proudly announce that, from that day forward, admission to the Museum will become free for all WWII veterans.

Since the Museum opened, we have always provided discounts for seniors and the military, but we believe the time has come to go one step further for our WWII veterans - and we need your help."

Spring is finally here, and it's almost that time of year for air shows! That's right! One of my favorite summer pastimes.
