When Corsair launched their AX1200i (and the other models in the same range) they brought to market a PSU with some very interesting features. These started with the Digital Signal Processor and continued on with a USB interface and software suite which allowed us to easily monitor our unit from within Windows. The fact that this software suite was also compatible with other Corsair products such as some of their coolers meant it was a very interesting release for enthusiasts.
Today Corsair are refreshing their AX-I range of PSUs and on our test bench we have the high end model, the 1500w AX1500i.

By E. Fylladitakis @ AnandTech
Corsair has created a good reputation for their branded PSUs, and today they are among the most popular choices for gamers and enthusiasts. The first PSU from Corsair to find its way into our new testing lab is the RM1000, an 80 Plus Gold Certified unit with a rated output of 1000W at 40°C ambient. Given the rated power output and retail price of $169.99 after rebate, the RM1000 is understandably targeted at advanced users and gamers, and very few PCs require so much power. The target audience can be quite demanding, however, and a simple 80 Plus Gold certification is not enough to entice such users, so let's see what else Corsair has up their sleeves.

by Martin Kaffei @ AnandTech
After our look at some 1000-1200W PSUs, we then took a detour into the realm of the reasonable with two smaller PSUs. Now we're moving back to higher wattages, where we find a lot of 750-850W power supplies that are ideal for PCs with dual-GPU SLI or Crossfire solutions. We're kicking off our next set of high-end (but not extreme) PSUs with an Antec model. The HCG-750 is something of a pedestrian product. It's 80 Plus Bronze certified, comes with non-modular cables, and uses a 135mm fan. We're here to see if there's more than meets the eye with this product, and if it can satisfy the needs of gamers and live up to the "High Current Gamer" brand name.

The High Current Pro is Antec's flagship line of computer power supplies. Given that and the previous stellar performance from the HCP-1200 we have seen previously, we have very high hopes for a new crown jewel in Antec's HCP line up.

It would be fair to say that the AX and TX2 ranges are premium products with great performance but a price which might be a little too high for some budgets. Enter the new GS range of PSUs from Corsair which are designed to provide over 80% efficiency and solid voltages for a more mainstream price. Let's see if the 800w model can meet the high expectations we have of Corsair products.
