Best Practices for Military Applications of Games, Simulations To Be Reviewed at 2014 Serious Play Conference
Military organizations were the first to identify the full potential of game-based learning. Nationally recognized leaders from multiple branches of the service will discuss both the successful and less effective use of simulations and games as well as the future of games for military training at the fourth annual Serious Play Conference at USC, Tuesday - Thursday, July 22 - 24 in Los Angeles.
Speakers will include:
- Donna Barbisch, Fellow, George Mason Center, sharing insights on the success, failure and opportunities for the use of serious games across all branches of the military
- Paulette Robinson, National Defense University, exploring how global trends in education will impact military training
- Tami Griffith, U.S. Army, describing best practices when leveraging technology for training in government agencies
- David A. Smith, Lockheed Martin, showing how an open source web framework allows for rapid development and deployment of interactive 3D environments
- Jan Cannon-Bowers and Bill Rebarick, Cubic Advanced Learning, discussing the development of a game-based training simulation for the U.S. Navy Littoral Combat Ship
